Aquatic Center

Daddy is on shutdown this week, and since we aren't going on vacation, we are living it up here at home!

Today we packed a lunch and went to the local aquatic center!



We tried to get Mia to jump off the diving board, but after walking out to the end, she decided there was no way she was jumping off!  HA!  Maybe next time ;)


This girl was a champ all day!

We came home, daddy fixed us dinner and we were all asleep by 930!  HAHA

Happy Anniversary!

Today makes SIX years of marriage to my best friend and love of my life!

This guy and I?  Have been through life together.  And I do mean Life.  From the age of 15, we’ve grown up together, graduated college, got married, moved 3 times and had two children in our six short years.  We’ve been through the ups and downs, highs and lows, deaths and weddings and births.  We’ve done infertility, miscarriage, complicated pregnancy and NICU baby.  Check, check and check.  Our marriage has been put to the test, and we have persevered.  He is truly my best friend and I am so thankful for him.

He is such a hard worker to provide for our family.  He has a terrible shift and drives a long way each day in order to provide and not move me away from my family.  He is an amazing daddy to our girls.  He’s smoking hot.  More so now than at age 15. HAHA! 


I am so very thankful God put us together.  I love him with my whole heart and would be lost without him!  I love you baby!

Fun filled family day

We started our day off walking across the bridge over the Ohio river.

We then ate lunch at another different place called Hillbilly Tea.  It’s been on the Food Network, so we decided to try it.  Besides a few little, ahem, quirks, it was decent!  But, I DO prefer ice in my water….

We came home, grabbed all 3 of the big dogs and headed to the fenced in park/dog park.

After our park trip, we took the dogs back home and all went to have some yummy FroYo!!



I absolutely love my family and making the most out of our days together!!!

Family walk and bowling with friends

We started our day off with a nice long walk, this time hoping to wear the dog out, not the children!  HA!

She thought we were going for a ride!  Not exactly, sister.


All ready to go!   And yes, Mia insisted on going for a walk in a dress.  She is a MAJOR clothes diva already. Changing constantly.  Loves dresses and play heels.  God, help me!


Mia wanted to walk Sam, and surprisingly, Sam didn’t pull her at all.  She was actually so good, there was slack in the leash and it kept getting wrapped up in her legs!


Dave tried to walk Sam up in the big field, but all she could do is keep looking back to make sure the girls and I were still there :)  Protective girl!


After our walk, the girls and I headed to the Bowling Alley with my friend Katie and her boys Alex and Max and the little princess Jenna!  Mia just LOVES Alex!

We then went to Jason’s Deli for lunch and Gigi’s for cupcakes.  Unfortunately, Mia didn’t get a cupcake due to behavior and not listening to her momma.  As much as it broke my heart and I wanted to cave in and get her one, I had to stick to my word, so that she knows I am serious. But, I REALLY wanted to cave.

On the way home, we stopped by Poppy’s house because Grand Poppy was over visiting.  He just got back from Paris and brought the girls back some cute shirts! 

We came home. Mia had meltdown of epic proportions. Stayed in her room for an hour. Multiple spankings. Momma in tears.  Story for whole different post.

Father’s Day 2013

Mia woke us up this morning and was sooo lovey to her sister!  I will never tire of seeing this love toward each other.

All of this was UNprompted.  Just pure sisterly love!


We all got ready for the day and Poppy and Ben came over (Meme was working, again.)  We decided to do something different and eat somewhere we have never eaten.  So we headed downtown and ate at an amazing little bar.  The food was delicious and it had a Law theme, which was right up Ben’s alley!

We then walked around downtown, took pictures, enjoyed the weather and just cherished the quality time spent together.

My first love; loyal; protector; provider; hard worker; the one who holds my heart, from the start; hilarious; a great Poppy to my girls; Those are some things that describe my daddy!  I love him so much and am so grateful that he is my dad and my girls Poppy!  We are lucky girls!  Happy Father’s Day, my special dad!
