My bathing beauties

Finley has moved up in the bathing world!  She is now in the tub chair thingy. She seems to love it and now both girls get in together!

Mia at 7 mos., Finley 6 mos.  The more I compare their actual pictures, the more differences I see…

I think their noses are a bit different and Finley’s eyes are spaced a little farther apart.  Mia had more hair at this point as well, but she is a month older.  Hmmm…

Nadia’s b-day party and Date night!

This morning I woke up and decided to mash some banana for Finley for breakfast.  We’ve been doing a few bites of food every day, until she gets it.  The bananas were, OK.  We were all bouncing around the house, getting ready, cleaning up, etc.  Mia came in the kitchen and I went to the laundry room for  a quick second and came back out to see this…

Mia took over mommy duties, and did a GREAT job!  Finley went with it and ate for her big sis!!  The love between these two is amazing.  I hope and pray is stays this way, forever!

Today was Nadia’s 4th birthday!  Of course Mia was so excited to go, that is her BFF!!

These two a two peas in a pod!  They get along so well and just love being together!!

After the party, we headed back home because Nana and Aunt Terri were coming to get the girls so that we could have a painting DATE NIGHT!!  Although I missed my babies, we had a great time!

Meme, Poppy and Ben also went painting!

Before we even STARTED painting, Meme got paint on her back, then apparently leaned up against Pops and got paint on his brand new shirt!  Never, never, a dull moment!

The nice gentleman behind us offered to take our picture, and of course we got a classic photo bomb, by none other than my sweet, special baby brother.

Ben’s and mom’s painting.  Don’t let Ben fool you, he WON the blue painting.  He DID NOT paint that one.  And no, I will not let him claim it, either.  He’s standing there all proud, thinking he’s gonna own that one.  HA

All of the paintings.  Dave’s, mine, Ben’s, mom’s and dad’s.

We had a great time!

One liners

Like a tweet, or a Facebook status update**Except more than 140 characters.**
Since I am on a Social media fast, that is what this post will consist of.  All of the one liners that I usually tweet or put on Facebook.
Ready?  Here we go.

So, I think my girls are in love.  And I kind of love that.

My smallest child is now sleeping about 6-9 hours at night!!  And when she does get up, I lay her in bed beside me and she nurses right back to sleep for a couple hours!
Yes, little lady, that is how I feel about that too…

Mia has been acting like a dog lately.  Like, an Academy Award type of acting.  Mia-dog sits, lays, shakes, stays and fetches (better than our real dog, actually).  Recently, she took her performance to a whole new Jennifer Lawrence level.  She crawled over to the real dog bowl, put her face in it, and lapped up the slobbery-backwash-dog saliva filled water.  And she didn’t even get any money.

Poppy came over to visit the other day and I caught him cuddling and dancing with Finley.  He was dancing to “Believe” by Brooks and Dunn.  My heart melted.
Crappy pictures from my iPhone, to capture the moment.  He had no idea I was sneaking pictures ;)

And then I got out my camera…

I’ve been working out, doing boot camp/cross fit type of exercise.  It is hardcore and intense and I feel like I may die while doing it, but?  I LOVE IT!  I have been doing it for about 2 weeks and have already lost 4lbs!!  I also have gained some battle wounds.  Bruised knees from burpees and callused/blistered hands from pull ups (no I can’t do a pull up, YET!), kettle bells and tire swings.
“She dresses herself with strength and makes her arms strong.”  Proverbs 31:17
One of the workouts…

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God?  You are not your own; you were bought at a price.  Therefore, honor God with your body.”  1 Corinthians 6:19
Lord, I am trying!
Speaking of exercising, our friends Dana and Brandon, are the ones who got us started on this type of exercise.  They have been doing it for a year and have seen major progress in their strength and bodies.  Although I curse them throughout the workout, I love them afterwards ;)  HA!

Mia’s 4th, FOURTH, birthday party is this Saturday.  What the what?  How am I even old enough to have a FOUR year old?  My baby is getting so big, old.  However, she can be EIGHTY FOUR, and still be my baby girl!

Finley 6 week pictures

Can I just start this post with a warning?
The following are pictures of gorgeous children. I know I am their mother, and maybe I am biased, but God was really showing off when He made them :)  I am amazed that I get to call them my daughters.  I am more thankful than I can express and more blessed than I deserve.

I tear up just looking at these beautiful girls that are mine.  How did I ever get so worthy of having them call me mommy?!
My heart is so full.

Pictures, weekend and a boob girl

This past Saturday we had an appointment to get Finley’s newborn pictures (yes I’m 6 weeks late)/sibling pictures made with the same photographer who did our maternity shoot. I had all of these high hopes of what our pictures would look like.  I surfed Pinterest and found all of these perfectly posed and cooperative children in these pictures and was picturing my girls in these pictures.
Of course, this is real life, and that didn’t happen.
First of all, we stopped by the gas station so that I could *buy* some bribery for the oldest girl to cooperate.  Nothing a peanut butter M&M can’t do.  Including getting lots of smiles :)  We get there and immediately the little decided to have a couple of blow-out-breastmilk-poop diapers.  No big deal.  Except for the fact that now she is wide awake.  Therefore not as cooperative or, eh, squishy.  And foldable.
I had this one pose that I really wanted.  I had it envisioned.  Mia was shirtless, lying on her back and Finley was to lay on her belly, on Mia.  The idea was for Finley to be asleep and Mia to have an I’m-so-in-love-with-my-sister look.  What really went down was Mia shirtless, lying on her back.  We put Finley on her belly, on top of Mia and Finley immediately started bobbing her head.  Ahem, looking for food.  She made her way over to the side and latched on to Mia!!!!  That kid could latch on to a wall!

Mia starts giggling about how it tickled and I’m pretty sure we were all about to bust a gut laughing.  I’m pretty sure we didn’t get that graceful, sweet picture that I was hoping for.  But I AM sure that we got some wonderful candid photos and lots of memories to take home forever.
Real life, people.
We were winding down and getting a last few minute shots of Finley when she decided to poo on me.  Again, the sweet naked baby picture ideas?  They don’t show the parents getting pee and pooped on!!  The best part about it?  I wiped it off with a wipe and still went out to eat afterwards without changing clothes.  You know you are a mom when?…

IMG_7028

Once that 2ish hour ordeal was over we went to eat lunch/dinner with Nana, Papaw and Aunt Terri.  Of course, Finley slept through that.  We had some delicious steak and then headed to Bass Pro shop to look around for a bit.  It was good cheap entertainment!
Sunday we hung out at the house for most of the day and then went to Meme and Poppy’s for dinner.  Very chill Sunday.  Just the way we like it. I am, however, missing church.  Hoping to get back next week, now that Finley is a little older.
What did you do this weekend?
