Sprinkler fun

First thing this morning we took a family walk.  It’s becoming a regular thing, these days.  However, I am highly unimpressed with our timing to start this routine.  It is HOT!  And the dog is basically wearing a black parka.  She’s unimpressed as well.

After our walk, we came back and had some sprinkler (not the kid kind.  More like water the lawn kind.) fun!  Since Sam decided to eat a hole in Mia’s pool, we had to play in the hose.  However, my girl had a blast!

Does she HAVE to look so big and teenager-ish??

While big sister played, little sister played on the front porch, while Sammy girl was on guard.

I don’t think it’s possible to love her anymore than I do.

After sprinkler fun, we all 3 took a TWO hour nap!!  MOM.WIN.

Then Meme and Ben came over and Ben did crafts with Mia.  He even made a “Mia’s Room” sign for her door.  Such a good Uncle!

Brody’s birthday

Mia’s little Partner-In-Crime Brody, had his actual 6th birthday.  The party is this weekend, but we went  to spend some time with them this afternoon.

We first had Charlie’s baseball game…

I just love these two goofballs!

Let the swimming days begin

This morning we had our outdoor family pictures.  It. Was. HOT.  We were all miserable and sweaty, so even though it was a bit late, we decided to go swimming!
We had our first official swimming day today.  The kind that actually requires swimmies and floats and momma and daddy can get in past their shins!  It was also Finley’s very first time in a pool!!

Miss Hair didn’t even hesitate and jumped right in!  Went straight under the water and LOVED it!!  That’s my girl!

And this one? Didn’t mind a bit!  She actually was smiling and laughing and loving it!

Uncle B even joined us!!
**I just have to add that while we were having our pics taken, Ben stayed at our house and cleaned it for us!!!  What an amazing brother I have, y'all!"**

Kazoing

I just realized that I didn’t post our Valentine’s Day!  I woke up to find a new pair of Toms and some Reese hearts and Mia had a couple of gifts from her daddy :)

Daddy had to end up going to work, so Mia and I went out and had V-day dinner with Meme, Poppy and Uncle B at Bonefish.  It was AH-mazing!

Mia ate so good at the restaurant.  She had mommy’s “chicken” aka salmon, asparagus, salad and bread!  She did so well that I let her have some dessert-Chocolate crème Brule!  YUM!
After dinner we went to B’s fave spot: Barnes and Noble book store and just looked around.  Now a days, I’m just as obsessed with books! It was a fun night!

Me and my little Valentine!

So Friday, Mia and I had a date with Tiffani and Jase at Kazoing!  I had heard of it, but never been there, so we decided to check it out!

Ready to play :)

Mia and Jase climbing up the slide.  Mia did surprisingly well going up to the top, but then I had to go up to slide down with her.  She’s still a little chicken :)

At the top and ready to slide!
After the kiddos played, we went to Chick-fil-A for lunch and let the kids play some more! We had a great day and Mia took a good nap after all the busyness!

Yesterday?  We did nothing.  And I loved it.  We are always running running running everywhere so it was nice to have a day to just chill in our jams as a family.
This morning we went to church and grabbed a bite o eat before coming home because we have absolutely NOTHING to eat in this house right now. We had to bring little missy straight home after that because she was a total grumposaurus!

Don’t let that face fool you.  She was in a foul mood!
Unfortunately, because of her mood, I missed one of my FAVE friends graduation party :(  My lovey Joelle graduated from Nursing school AND passed her boards!  YAY!  Joelle is such a sweet, kind, loving person and friend and I don’t know what I would do without her.  God truly blessed me when he put her in my life.  I thank God for her everyday!  Congratulations sweet friend!  I am so proud of you and I love you to pieces :)

Change of plans

We were supposed to go to the zoo with some friends this morning, but I ended up working until noon.  I would say *unfortunately* but I was honestly glad to go to work.  I know, I know, your gasping for breath right now, but it’s true!  I haven’t worked since before Christmas due to the holidays, then being sick and then a low census at work.  I never, ever, thought I would utter those words out of my mouth, but it felt GOOD to get out for a bit, make some money, use some critical thinking skills and talk to some friends!  Although it was not what I had planned, it still turned out to be a good day.

We headed over to hang out with Meme, Poppy and Uncle B tonight while daddy worked.  On the way there she held her baby and tweeted at the same time ;)  Like mother, like daughter! HA!
IMG_3814
We went to Bed, Bath and Beyond and Poppy and Mia found the wooden work bench.  Mia loved hammering the blocks!  A girl after her Poppy’s own heart.
IMG_3818
That store is so neat, I could walk around there for hours, not to mention the amount of money I could spend in there!  Mia has the same taste. She walked around trying to find “toys.”  It didn’t matter what it was, if it was colorful and had fun writing on it, she decided it was a toy and wanted it!
IMG_3823
We were all hungry and none of us could agree on where to eat.  When we finally all agreed, the wait was over an hour.  Um, an hour wait with a 2 year old and like-2-year-old Poppy?  No thanks!  HA!  We started heading back toward home and remembered a new sushi place that had just opened up and it happened to be 2 minutes away from where we were!  Yes!  More sushi for me :) I could possibly get mercury poisoning with how much I love sushi.  **AND I don’t mean a California roll, I mean FISH.  RAW fish!  It is absolutely so delish and refreshing!  YUM!**
IMG_3824
Mommy and her favorite little lady.  I’m loving this front camera thing on my new phone!
IMG_3825
Meme and Mia practice their hand tracing skills while we waited for our food.  This is Mia’s new thing.  She loves to trace her hand and have you trace yours!
IMG_3827IMG_3828
Mia thinks it’s hilarious to bite into a lemon/lime and do this whole-body-shake type thing!  She cracks herself up, silly kid :)

This day did not go anything as planned, but it turned out perfectly.  We had a ridiculously amazing day!

Operation Christmas Clean up and a Tea Party

The day after Christmas is always a sad day to me.  After all of the excitement and festivities during the month of December, once Christmas gets here, it goes by so fast that it is almost like a let down.  I remember being a kid and making those paper chains for the countdown until Christmas and it felt like it would NEVER get here.  Now that I’m an adult, each Christmas creeps up on me!
Yesterday was operation clean up from Christmas day.  Our house is swimming in a sea of pink and purple!  We decided to make the spare room a playroom for now. We were trying to hold off for another baby, but with all the toys we have, we had to go ahead and make a playroom! HA!  We will cross *that other* bridge when we get there ;)

Mia helping her daddy put together her new toy shelves!
We got all of our Christmas décor packed up and put away, toys put away, playroom put together and even some laundry done!
Poppy and Uncle B came over to visit while Meme worked. We went to a party supply store and Olive Garden for dinner!

Yep, that’s my dad and husband. LOL
123-2
Don’t be jealous ladies, he’s *ALL* mine, mullet and all!  HA!
Once we got back home, Mia and her B played Tea Party with her new tea set she got for Christmas. It was the sweetest sight!  Mia loves her Uncle Ben!
123-3
Priceless.
Meme got off work at 730 and came over to hang out.  We played cards and talked and laughed and just had a great night!  Love my family!

Unfortunately after this we had to leave for a little bit because Uncle B got sick, on Christmas, and we had to take him a Ginger Ale and a Phenergan.  We left our little grumposaurus with Nana to get a little nap!
cmas16
She has just been so exhausted with these past couple of days of non stop action!
Once we got back we went to Dave’s aunt Terri and Uncle Charlie’s house for our family Christmas!

We had such a wonderful Christmas!  We were surrounded by our families, whom we love dearly, had lots of good food and opened special gifts for Jesus’ Birthday!  We are truly blessed beyond what we deserve!
It is very humbling and gives an overall sense of warm fuzzies when you sit back and just observe everyone you love, all under the same roof, spending time together.  It makes my heart swell with love and gratitude for each and every one of them!
We hope you had a very blessed Christmas as well!
