Aquatic Center

Daddy is on shutdown this week, and since we aren't going on vacation, we are living it up here at home!

Today we packed a lunch and went to the local aquatic center!

We tried to get Mia to jump off the diving board, but after walking out to the end, she decided there was no way she was jumping off!  HA!  Maybe next time ;)

Fun filled family day

We started our day off walking across the bridge over the Ohio river.

We then ate lunch at another different place called Hillbilly Tea.  It’s been on the Food Network, so we decided to try it.  Besides a few little, ahem, quirks, it was decent!  But, I DO prefer ice in my water….

We came home, grabbed all 3 of the big dogs and headed to the fenced in park/dog park.

Our fur baby…

More tests and doctors

Today I had another renal ultrasound and abdominal x-ray. I made my mom go with me because I had Finley, but mostly because I do everything with my mom!  I have been dealing with this since the discovery of my kidney stones, about a month and a half ago.  The urologist said that my kidney still had some mild swelling, so I need to do yet another CT scan to tell us exactly if a stone is still there.  If there is still a stone (in the ureter), they will have to go in, get it out and place a stent.  Boo for that!
But if you know me, at all, I was just excited I didn’t have cancer.  That is a true phobia fear of mine.

Next up, lunch at Panera!  We had to eat in the car in order to get to my next appointment, but my mom and I can make anything fun!  HA!
We then went in to my OB/GYN office for the awesome yearly thing that women are so privileged to do
We went straight home, took naps and then just hung out at the house, because it is seriously deprived because of how busy we stay!!
Praise God for good test results!

A *mostly* restful weekend

Saturday I ended up working until 3 and then Dave had to go to work as soon as I got off.  :(  So I came home and the girls and I went to eat some Mexican food with my parents.  We then came back and relaxed.  Very low key Saturday.

Sunday after church, Dave and I were super tired, so we skipped ABF and ran to the grocery.  We had ZERO food!  We got done at the grocery, came home and put them away while Mia played outside with Sam in her little kiddie pool.  It’s so nice because it’s a little bitty pool, right on our deck (redneck? yes.) and our yard is fenced in.  Plus Sam stays right by Mia the whole time!  So we can actually go inside (keep our eye out through the glass back door) and get some stuff done!

Our happy girl!

She is seriously this happy, 95% of the time.

We then went to Meme and Poppy’s for some delicious dinner!  Mia helped me make banana pudding!

She has never had whipped cream before and I had to make her try it.  After that?  You tell me how she felt about it…

Date night, lunch with friends, dinner with family

Friday I worked 12, twelve, hours.  The longest shift I have worked since Finley has been born.  It went by fast, but man I missed my babies!  I do enjoy working though, because it gives me some much needed adult time, and time to miss my girls!  It’s good for all of us :)

Poppy and Ben actually watched the girls while Dave, Meme and I worked.  They did a fantastic job, although Poppy and B were exhausted, and the girls loved it.  This is what I came home to…

Spoiled much?!

Saturday I got up and took the girls with me to lunch and to Feeders Supply for some things for Sam.  It was great, but tiring at the same time.  Single mothers?  I applaud you.  It is the hardest job, ever.  With Dave working so much lately, I have felt like a single mother.  And it is challenging to say the least.  I am grateful for the opportunity to be home with my girls, but man! People don’t give single mothers or stay-at-home moms enough credit!

Lunch time sweeties…

I needed to go to the grocery as well, but I was not brave enough to do that on my own!  I brought them home to daddy and went to the grocery store, solo.  I slowly browsed each and every aisle.  Funny how the things you enjoy now differ so much from what you used to enjoy!  Ahh motherhood!
I came home from the grocery, took a nap and then daddy and I went on a much needed date night!  We haven’t had a date night since before Finley was born, so we were so thankful!!  Mia and Finley went to hang out with Nana and Papaw while mommy and daddy went to dinner and a movie.

Yes, that is my medium rare steak.  It was amazinggg!!!

Yes we fight, but that is my bestie and I am so thankful to have such a great husband.  He works so hard for us and I am so proud of him and appreciative of all he does for us!

Sunday we had lunch with some sweet friends and then some errands to complete, including a trip to Lowe’s to prettify my porch with hanging flower baskets!  Oh how I love the warmer weather and sunshine!!
On our way home daddy and Mia got a special ice cream treat.  I took a few little licks, but have to stay away from it for the most part because it upsets Finley’s belly.  Great diet plan ;)

Sunday afternoon we headed to Meme and Poppy’s to hang out.

The day we brought her home

Today marked the 4 year anniversary of bringing our first baby home from her 17 day stay in the NICU.  I know I blog about this every year, but honestly, this day was better than her actual birth day.  Every year, I feel the need to celebrate her on this day.  Her NICU stay was so scary and every day was full of uncertainties, but my girl?  Is a survivor and a true fighter!  It was a rough first year, but every day was worth it.  she is nothing short of amazing.  I could fall to me knees and praise and thank God every day for allowing her to stay on earth with me, but it would never be enough.  We are truly blessed with this little lady in our lives.

My first lady who made life worth living…

The day we brought her home we went to Sapporo’s (sushi restaurant) to celebrate, so that is what has become tradition to do every year. So much fun and yummy food!

Getting a picture of her requires lots of bribery!

Thank you Lord for this special little girl!
