Sprinkler fun

First thing this morning we took a family walk.  It’s becoming a regular thing, these days.  However, I am highly unimpressed with our timing to start this routine.  It is HOT!  And the dog is basically wearing a black parka.  She’s unimpressed as well.

After our walk, we came back and had some sprinkler (not the kid kind.  More like water the lawn kind.) fun!  Since Sam decided to eat a hole in Mia’s pool, we had to play in the hose.  However, my girl had a blast!





Does she HAVE to look so big and teenager-ish??


While big sister played, little sister played on the front porch, while Sammy girl was on guard.



I don’t think it’s possible to love her anymore than I do.








After sprinkler fun, we all 3 took a TWO hour nap!!  MOM.WIN.

Then Meme and Ben came over and Ben did crafts with Mia.  He even made a “Mia’s Room” sign for her door.  Such a good Uncle!

Swimming with cousins

After a long day of cleaning (yuck), and after daddy went to work, Ben, the girls and I went to Nuna’s house to swim with her and the boys!  I was in the pool most of the time as well, so all I managed to get was pictures of the babies!  But, they are pretty stinking cute, don’t ya think??



Max 9 mos., Finley 5 mos..



They are almost exactly (Max Sept 20 and Finley Jan 16) 4 months apart.  Can’t believe how much babies grow in their first year!



These two are sweet as pie, but I have a feeling they might cause some trouble together one day ;)  Their looks alone may just get them out of it!  HA!

Let the swimming days begin

This morning we had our outdoor family pictures.  It. Was. HOT.  We were all miserable and sweaty, so even though it was a bit late, we decided to go swimming!
We had our first official swimming day today.  The kind that actually requires swimmies and floats and momma and daddy can get in past their shins!  It was also Finley’s very first time in a pool!!

Miss Hair didn’t even hesitate and jumped right in!  Went straight under the water and LOVED it!!  That’s my girl!


And this one? Didn’t mind a bit!  She actually was smiling and laughing and loving it!




Uncle B even joined us!!
**I just have to add that while we were having our pics taken, Ben stayed at our house and cleaned it for us!!!  What an amazing brother I have, y'all!"**

New suits, kiddie pool time and CFA

So the time is here.  Swimsuit time that is.  I absolutely LOVE girls bathing suits, not mine.  Because, yuck.  But for them?  I die.  I’ve been eyeing these completely-amazing-so-cute-I-start-getting-all-giddy swimsuits from Janie and Jack.  My mom knew how bad I wanted them, but couldn’t reason with myself to spend that money on them, so she bought one of them for Mia’s birthday and I bought the other.  And can I say, they were so worth it???

After I took a few deep breaths in my brown paper bag and caught my breath from hyperventilating, we went outside to play while waiting for our friends!

Then Mia’s friend Alex came over to play!  She gets along with him SO well and I think it’s because she met her match in the energy level department ;)  And because my child is so rough and boy-like when she wants to be.  She is so perfectly well rounded and I wouldn’t change her for the world!

Meme and Ben came over a little later and watched Finley so Mia and I could go to CFA with Katie and her kids!  We came back and hung out and Mia passed out pretty quickly!  The sun and water will drain it right out of you!!

Summer is in the air!

Since I worked until 4 this morning, I declared today a LAZY day!  We hung out at the house and by the kiddie pool for most of the afternoon. 

Can someone please tell this child that it is NOT ok to look like a teenager already?!


And also?  This has just started happening…

Both of my children seem to think that it’s ok to grow at alarmingly fast rates.  Not ok, kids.  Not ok.

This is real life…


After daddy left for work, Poppy and Ben came over!  We went to dinner and then came back and Mia helped Ben wash his car! She also blew bubbles and drew with chalk.  You know, summer activities!
