Smart girl, Memorial Day, double ear infection

To catch you up to speed I worked all day Friday, Saturday we had lunch at a favorite local restaurant, hung out with some good friends, had a "school" lesson with Mia to show how smart she is ;), dinner with friends, Sunday went to a family cookout, today to the pediatric acute care...IN A NUT SHELL!

Lunch with daddy!

Here are a FEW of her skills....... :)

Peek-a-boo

saying hello!

I am so proud of her, she is just like a sponge right now.  Everything I do, she mocks me.  She just started this thing where when you "knock" on something, she looks at her hand, makes a little fist and "knocks" on the same thing you are!  She also mocks you when you sneeze!  You sneeze and she goes "AAHHH-th" with a little like lisp!!  She is so cute!  Everything I do, I talk it out so that she picks up on it.  It's amazing what these little ones are capable on doing, learning or understanding.  I truly think she is getting more fun every single day.

Sunday we went to Dave's family cookout for Memorial Day.  Man it was HOTT, but a beautiful day!  I am so thankful for all of the brave men and women out there who serve and protect our country!  I am also thankful for Jesus dying on the cross for my sins.  I am also thankful for God allowing me to have my late grandmother and uncle for as long as I did.  They were amazing people who I loved very much, so on this memorial day especially, I am thinking about them and missing them very much!

Her Memorial Day outfit!

starting to feel a little yucky...

At this point, Mia starting acting "unlike" herself.  She was very CALM (which you should already know is absolutely NOT my child), had groggy eyes and just kind of sat in your lap and didn't care about anything.  I took her inside and noticed that she felt a little warm, but I just thought that maybe it was from being outside.  So I stripped her down, gave her some ice cold water and let her take a nap.  When she woke up from her nap, she was a little fussy, but nothing too terrible.  I started thinking, maybe it's from her teeth, because she did just have her top two molars pop through and her bottom two are very swollen.  I gave her some Tylenol and we went about our day and went swimming!

Momma holding her poor baby :(
We got home after the party and took her temperature which was 101.7!!!!  I felt so horrible that I had her out for so long.  It breaks my heart so see her feel bad.  We gave her some Motrin and Pedialyte and went to bed.  Today, we called the doctor and got her into the Pediatric Acute Care center to get her checked out.  I knew it was her ears because this is how she acts EVERY time she gets an ear infection.  After being assessed, the diagnosis is:  DOUBLE EAR INFECTION!  Imagine that....could we please bring the TUBES please??!!  I just don't want her to feel bad anymore, so hopefully insurance will pay for the tubes for my baby girl!

awww....poor thing.

Anywho, thats the news with us!  Back to work tomorrow and the next two days....

Zoo days!

Tuesday I was supposed to work but got a **BUDGET** so Mia and I got to enjoy a girls day!  We went to the zoo and played in the water first...

After the zoo, we went to the mall to eat lunch and I had to find a swimming suit for Mia's swim lessons.

Our yummy cheesecakes!

After lunch I tried on some bathing suits and basically threw up in my mouth and decided that operation starvation was in effect!    My current membership at the gym expired this month, so I wanted to go renew and bust my butt in there!  So we went to the gym and made an appt for thursday (today) to sign up.  Then we went to Target and home!  It was a good long day!

Wednesday Mia had a follow up doctors appt for fluid on her ears.  She has had fluid on her ears for about 2 months now and it's STILL there...so the doctor said that if she still has it at her 15 month appt, she will need to get tubes placed : (  This is sad, yet a relief for me.  I obviously don't want my child to undergo surgery, however, at this age speech development is so critical and she is still  not walking!   I mean if your equilibrium is all messed up, you can't walk correctly and if your hearing is not tip top, you can not talk properly!  So, bring on the tubes!
*Plus her top two molars have just broke the surface (tuesday) and the bottom two are SO swollen, so all of the drooling is not helping with the whole ear situation*

Daddy and Mia waiting at the doctors office

During Mia's doctors appt, I asked her about her "attitude" problem!  When she just placed the stethescope on Mia, she SCREAMED!  As soon as she quit, Mia smiled and waved at her!  I told her about her "fits" of throwing herself backward, screaming and backtalking.  At 13 MONTHS, REALLY??!!  She said yep you've definitely got a "drama queen" on your hands!  FANTASTIC!  Tell me something I don't know! HAHA I don't have a CLUE where she got it from....
*Um, doc, can you go ahead and up my meds?!*
After the appt, Daddy, Mia and I went to the zoo because daddy doesn't get to go with us very often, so he needed some play time too!

beautiful princess!

Thursday was a long time planned girls day out.  First up-go sign up at the gym, then go eat lunch, mall and then zoo!
I am so pumped about the gym, because this mom-bod NEEDS some work, badly!  Plus it just makes you feel good about yourself!
We ate lunch at a buffet so that the girls could have a variety, but both didn't act very interested.  Mia is usually a HUGE eater, but today, she wasn't feeling it!  Oh well, mommy was! HAHA  The mall trip was a quick "return something" trip and then off to the zoo.  Up until this point it was HOTT!  Miserable HOT!  Can't wait to get to the zoo and get in the water....

Playing in the water park!

Shortly after this, it started to storm and we basically had to run out, but I was exhausted!  Running around with a kid takes lots of energy.  This is something you just can't comprehend until you become a parent.  I never would have thought that a trip to wal mart would be so tiring that you postpone it until your husband or someone can go with you to help!

It has been a great 3 days off with my little girlfriend!  Now, tomorrow is back to the grind and I hear it's been terribly busy at work...BOO!  Why can't I just be a stay at home mom??!  I could totally get used to it!  Oh well, maybe God will work that out for me somehow in the future!

Yard sale, relaxing Sunday

Friday was such a crazy day at work, so when I got home Ben, Mia and I decided to order Aspen Creek takeout and chill at the house.

waiting for our food...

salad, salmon, sweet potatoes and mac-n-cheese for Mia and I.  Burger for B!

Saturday we attempted to have a "huge" yard sale to get rid of a bunch of stuff from the move.  I am definitely NOT a hoarder and like to get rid of anything I haven't seen and/or used within a year.  We got up at 6am, set up and had about a total of 10 people show up...it was a bust!  We just don't have much traffic flow in this neighborhood and I admit, I'm not a professional yard saler!  We made about $200 dollars total that day and took the rest to the Goodwill.
At 1230 we had to leave to go to Jaelyn's 1st bee-day party!  I was in such a hurry because I was running late that I forgot my purse and camera : (  So no pics for me.  Unfortunately, we had to leave early because Mia was sooo cranky.  I think she gets overstimulated around big crowds, but then again, she just gets mad when she doesn't get her way and then throws a temper tantrum!  At 13 months, really??!  I didn't even know they knew how to do that at that age.  She is definitely a MoOdY little girl!  I have NO clue where she got that attitude from?! HAHA! ;)
After the party we had to do some running to storage, goodwill, grandma and grandpa's, then to eat.  We were gonna go to a movie, but we were so tired and Mia was so upset that we just went home and went to bed-at NINE o'clock!!!  We act soo old! HA!
Today was a GREAT, relaxing day.  We got up, had a family breakfast (courtesy of my momma), went to storage and Wal-Mart, came back home, took a dip in Mia's little pool, grilled out and then napped!  I love lazy days!

At wally world

fun in the car with daddy!

We had to take a little break for a change because she pooed in the pool! HAHA!  Then we made chicken salad and guacamole!

She thought she would help with the dishes!
